Adherence Program

Adherence Program
Adherence Matters
Studies show that 20% to 30% of medications are never filled and 50% are not taken as prescribed.  Increasing compliance reduces hospital readmissions, improves the prescriber’s ability to manage their patients, and improves patients’ outcomes.

Better Outcomes through Better Adherence
Patients can be more compliant and achieve better outcomes through increased adherence and our pharmacy can help with our proven adherence programs.
We identify the unique reasons for non-compliance and address them on a per patient basis. Most of our programs are free of charge and are proven to work.
Patients who enrolled in our programs achieve greater compliance goals than those set by Medicare, most insurances, and significantly greater than those achieved by the average patient.
Deliver Service
Patient who are not able to get to the pharmacy can get their medication delivered to them. Often on the same day it’s prescribed.
Synchronization Program
Our specially trained staff and unique pharmacy software can synchronize all the patients’ medications to be ready on a single day of the month. Eliminating multiple trips to the pharmacy and running out medication.
More than just filling the medication on a scheduled day, we call each patient prior to each fill date and review their medication with them, identify any changes, answer any questions, and counsel them on their medication therapy. When required we contact the prescriber for refill request or to notify of any issues.
Compliance Packaging – both unit and multi-dose
We are able to do more that fill unit dose blisters. We have partnered with Dispill to provide our patient with the best multi-dose compliance packaging on the market. Each package contains a week’s worth of medication individually blistered for a specific time and date. Blisters are large enough to accommodate medication for patients with multiple disease states. Each blister can be used as a medication cup and contains the entire patient’s medication data printed right on it.
Our packaging system reduces medication errors and mix-ups, increases compliance, and gets the patient the correct dose at the correct time. Each package is filled by a licensed Massachusetts Pharmacist to ensure accuracy and reduces wasted patient, caregiver, or visiting nurses’ time managing medication.
In addition to being better, they are also more convenient and cleaner than traditional pill boxes or other multi-dose systems.
It’s the only packaging that is perforated, so if the patient is going out to lunch or away for the weekend, they can simply bring along the appropriate blisters. Less to lose or misplace if you can take only what you need.
Adherence is easy when there is nothing to forget, nothing to mix-up, and nothing is missing.
